CHECKOUT IMPORTANT DATES
JEE MAIN 2025 application forms start in March. Before filling out the JEE Main 2025 application form, all candidates need to check for JEE Main 2025 eligibility criteria and also eligibility criteria for getting admissions in NITs, IIITs, Central Govt. Institutions, State Govt. Institutions and other institutions. We provide all the information related to JEE Main 2025 eligibility criteria.
a)Aadhaar card: For JEE Main 2025 Aadhaar card is mandatory. While filling out the application, the candidate has to enter his/her details Aadhaar number, name, gender, and date of birth, as in the Aadhaar card which is going to be validated as per the UIDAI database. If the details are mismatched, the candidate cannot fill out the application. For candidates who don’t possess an Aadhaar card, CBSE has set up Facilitation Centres for Aadhaar Enrolment in different cities.
b)Age Limit: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1995, are eligible. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the age limit is relaxed by 5 years i.e. October 01, 1990. Date of Birth should be as per 10th class or University Certificate
c)Qualifications: Candidates who have passed their Class XII Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020, 2021 or 2025.
d) Candidates who are appearing for their Class XII Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2022.
e) Candidates who passed Class XII before 2018 are not eligible.
f) Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in the Class XII/qualifying examination.
g) The number of attempts given to a candidate for JEE (Main) shall be limited to 03 (three).
h) Candidates with diplomas (3 years) recognized by AICTE or a state board are eligible.
i) Since the states of Madhya Pradesh, Nagaland and Odisha joined JEE (Main) system in 2014, the age limit, and no. of attempts remain the same as per their past practice. This will, however, be obviously not applicable for admission to IITs/NITs/IIITs/CFTIs.
i) Candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the Class XII examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the Class XII class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the Class XII examination.

ii) For E/B.TECH, the candidate must pass the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects.
iii) For B.ARCH./B.PLANNING, the candidate must pass the 10+2 examination with Mathematics.
Technical Institutions participating in counseling through JoSAA/CSAB can also adopt the above-mentioned policy. The State may prepare a separate rank list based on criteria decided by them to admit students in the engineering Colleges affiliated with state Universities.
No. of Seats:
The candidates are advised to refer to the website of JoSAA/Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) or the concerned state government/institute after the declaration of ranks of JEE Main 2025.
Reservation of seats:
As per Government of India rules, seats are reserved for the categories given below:
a) Other Backward Classes (OBC) if they belong to Non-Creamy Layer (NCL)
b) Scheduled Castes (SC)
c) Scheduled Tribes (ST)
d) Persons with Disability (PWD) with 40% or more disability.
i) Candidates shall be offered admission based on their choices and All India Ranks of JEE (Main)-2025.
ii) The candidates will be able to make their choices online for branches/programs and institutes at an appropriate time.
iii) The verification of documents regarding identification, age, qualifying examination, state of eligibility, category, and disability (if any) of the candidate would be done at the time of the Seat Allocation Process/admission.
iv) The candidate will not be considered for admission, on failing to produce any of the authentic documents.
v) SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates will be required to produce an original certificate issued by the competent authority, or else they will not be considered for admission.
JEE Main 2025 Paper-I is the eligibility test for JEE Advanced 2025.
i) Candidate must have passed Class XII or equivalent qualifying examination. Those appearing in these examinations in 2020 can also appear in JEE Advanced 2020.
ii) Candidates who want to join IITs and ISM Dhanbad for UG programs in the year 2025 will have to appear in Paper-I B. E/B. Tech of JEE Main 2025.
iii) Top 2,52,000 candidates in JEE Main 2025 (including all categories) will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2025.
iv) No. of attempts for a candidate is a maximum of two times in consecutive years.
v) The candidates, who have attempted IIT-JEE/JEE Advanced in 2018 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2025.
