Common Law Admission Test is a National level entrance examination created under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for students who are seeking admission to various Law universities across the nation. CLAT is an entrance exam that is conducted by 21 National Law Universities on a rotational basis for admission into undergraduate and Post Graduate programs of each university. This year Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 was organized by National Law University, Cuttack, Odisha. Admission for candidates will be given on the basis of merit and preference as per eligibility and reservations of respective universities.
The CLAT 2025 notification for admissions into Law UG and PG courses of the academic year 2025-26 has been released in the month of 7th July 2024. Some new changes in the CLAT Exam pattern have been proposed by the Vice-Chancellor of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. Keep visiting this page for CLAT 2025 Updates.
1) Age: Below 20 years for general category candidates and below 22 years for SC/ST/OBC/SAP category candidates
2) Candidates must be passed or appearing in 10+2 examination with at least 45% of marks for General/OBC/SAP categories and 40% of marks for SC/ST categories.

2) Candidates must be passed or appearing in LL.B/5 year integrated LL.B (Hons.) or equivalent exam with at least 55% of marks for General/OBC/SAP categories and 50% of marks for SC/ST categories.

2) The candidate will receive their User ID and password on the registered email address and registered mobile number after registering.
1) The application should be submitted online mode only. Offline applications or applications sent by post are not accepted. For Online submission, visit the official website of CLAT 2025.
1) log in to fill out the application form using the user id and password.
2) Fill out the application form with personal and academic details.
3) Upload the scanned images of the photograph and signature along with other required documents like caste certificate or SAP certificate etc.
4) Fill in the preference order for all 18 NLUs.
4) Once all the required fields are filled with correct and authentic information, submit the application form.
5) Once the candidate submits the application successfully, he/she will receive a confirmation email.
6) Candidates are advised to take a printout of the application for future reference.
Exam Pattern for UG Course:
1) Mode: Online mode
2) Duration: 2 Hours
3) Total Questions: 200
4) Total Marks: 200
5) Negative Marking: 0.25 mark is deducted for every wrong answer
6) Subjects: English, General Knowledge, and Current Affairs, Numerical Ability, Legal Aptitude, Logical Reasoning.
Exam Pattern for PG Course:

6) Subjects: Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, and Other Law subjects.
CLAT 2025 syllabus is comprised of the following subjects.
CLAT 2025 Admit cards will be available from the 3rd week of November 2024 Admit cards will not be sent by post to the candidates. Candidates have to download their CLAT 2025 admit cards using their login id and password from CLAT official website.
The CLAT 2025 result is expected to release on 3rd week of December 2024, Tentatively, through the official portal. CLAT Score/Rank card will be available after the release of results. Candidates can check and download the CLAT result 2025 and rank card from CLAT official website. Rank cards will NOT be sent by post or mail to the candidate.
1) Counselling of CLAT 2025 starts from 4th week of December 2024 on the basis of merit-cum-preference.
2) The candidate must deposit a counselling fee of Rs 50,000 /- with the CLAT 2025 Office.
2) The counselling fee is adjustable i.e. Rs 50,000 /- paid with CLAT 2025 Office will be transferred to respective participating NLUs where the candidate has finally taken admission.
3) If a candidate fails to deposit the counselling fee before the prescribed date, his/her name will be dropped from the merit list.
4) Candidate can withdraw from the admission process within the given time and date, but a nominal fee of Rs 10,000 /- will be deducted from the deposited counselling fee.
5) Candidates who fail to report at the allotted NLU after the publication of the CLAT merit list and fail to complete the admission formalities as per the CLAT 2025 calendar will automatically lose their claim for admission and their entire amount of the counselling fee of Rs. 50,000 /- will be forfeited.
For UG Course:
(i) Higher marks in the section of legal aptitude in CLAT 2025 exam.
(ii) Higher age.
(iii) Computerised draw of lots.
For PG Course:
(i) Higher age;
(ii) Computerized draw of lots.
1) No changes are entertained once the registration process is done.
2) Applicants should note that the mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by NLUs.
3) Candidates must have a valid and unique email account and mobile number throughout the selection process.
4) At the time of CLAT Application registration SC / ST / OBC / SAP certificate(s) must be uploaded.
5) Registration of Candidates will get cancelled if they fail to upload caste/class certificates.
6) Candidates must carry original ID proof and admit cards.
7) Electronic gadgets, written/blank paper/books, calculators etc are not allowed.
