TNEA 2025 Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) is used to be a state-level entrance examination conducted by Anna University for admissions into the Under Graduate Engineering courses offered by engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu, India. But in the last few years, TNEA written exam is not conducted and the admissions are done based on the candidates’ performance in Class XII.
TNEA 2025 official notification will be released in June 2025.
Online application forms will be made available from 1st week of June 2025.
There is no written exam for TNEA, seats are allotted based on the candidate’s performance in Class XII.
TNEA 2025 Eligibility:
1) Candidates who belong to Tamil Nadu state and completed their Class XII with PCM group from Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply.
2) Candidates who belong to Tamil Nadu state and completed their Class XII with PCM group from other states are eligible to apply, however they have to submit nativity certificate. The nativity certificate must be attached in digital format only.
3) Candidates who belong to other states of India and completed their Class XII with PCM group from Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply.
4) Candidates whose parents are all India service Tamil Nadu cadre officers are also eligible.
5) Candidates whose parents work in central government are also eligible to apply even they are not native of the state provided they must be serving for Tamil Nadu state for past 5 years continuously. Candidates need to submit the certificate issued by his/her parents employer.
6) Candidates whose parents work in Public sector or are government employees are also eligible even they are not native of the state provided they must be serving for Tamil Nadu state for past 5 years continuously. Candidates need to submit the certificate issued by his/her parents employer.
7) For General category candidates, at least 50% of marks must be secured in their Class XII (PCM group) and for reserved category candidates, it is reduced to 40% of marks.
8) Sri Lankan Tamil refugees who have studied in Tamil Nadu will be considered for admission under open competition if they are able to provide their identification certificate from the Head Quarters Tahsildar.

Online mode payment is through payment gateways by Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking
Offline mode payment is through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of “The Secretary (TNEA), Anna University”, payable at Chennai.
1) Application forms will be available from 1st week of May 2025.
2) Applications will be available in both online and offline modes.
3) Fill the personal and academic details and all other required fields carefully.
4) Pay the fee as prescribed in the above mentioned modes.
5) Candidates have to submit the application forms along with the relevant documents in the given address:

How to Apply:
1) Visit the official website and click on “TNEA 2025 Application Form”.
2) Candidate can see the instructions to be followed.
3) Click on “New User Registration” and fill the required fields to register.
4) Login using User Id and Password, and start filling the application form with personal and academic details.
5) Pay the prescribed fee to complete application form or enter DD details (if offline).
6) Take the printout / Xerox of the application form.
7) Post the application form with relevant documents within given period of time.

As above mentioned, students get admissions based on their percentage obtained in Class XII. A merit list is going to be prepared according to the percentages secured in Class XII and seats are allotted in various engineering colleges according to the merit list only.
TNEA 2025 counseling will be conducted by Anna University in the month of July 2025. Candidates will be called according to the merit list. The seats are allotted in this counselling process based on Class XII percentage and admissions are purely done according to the merit list.
Candidates have to report at the colleges allotted and submit the fees to complete the admission procedure. Documents will be verified by the authorities of the allotted college.
