The National level Computer-based Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is the gateway for ambitious students seeking admissions in Undergraduate Programmes of B.E., B.Tech in various NITs (National Institute of Technology), Centrally Funded Institutes (CFIs) and other Institutions/Universities Funded/2Recognized by participating State Governments in India.
JEE MAIN 2025 comprises two Papers – Paper 1 is intended for admission to B.E., B.Tech., undergraduate programs in various National Institute of Technology (NITs), Centrally Funded Institutions (CFIs), and other Institutions/Universities Funded/Recognized by participating State Governments in India. Paper 2 is meant for admission to B. Arch (Bachelor of Archaeology) and B. Planning (Bachelor of Planning) courses in the above Institutions in the Country.
JEE Main 2025 is also an eligibility test for the JEE Advanced 2025 Examination, which is an entrance exam for admissions into India's prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) for graduate courses.
The task of conducting JEE (Main) has been delegated to the National Testing Agency (NTA) from 2019 onwards, which is established as a premier, specialist, autonomous, and self-sustained testing organization.
JEE main 2025 Exam Notification has already been released. The application form has been made available at the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in The application process for JEE Main 2025 exam starts between Jan and April 2025. The submission of applications has been re-opened from April 2025.
Instructions to candidates desirous of applying online for JEE (Main) - 2025 are made available in the “Information Bulletin”, under the heading ‘Important Information at a Glance’. For more details, candidates may like to go through the Information Bulletin Appendix-VII (Duplication of Application Form).
While filling up of application form online, authentication of Mobile Number and email ID is a must. Candidates must enter the OTP received on their registered Mobile Number and before making the payment of the fee must enter the OTP received in the registered email ID.
Candidates must fill out the Application Form and fee for each session and pay the requisite examination fee for each session separately at the time of opening the portal for that session. However, candidates are barred from applying for both sessions together.
1) Candidates must apply for JEE Main 2025 only Online.
2) JEE Main 2025 application process starts in March 2025.
3) Candidate must have a mobile number and email ID for authentication while filling up the application form.
3) Aadhaar Number or Aadhaar Enrolment Number or Registration Number provided by the Aadhaar Facilitation Center is mandatory to apply for JEE Main 2025.
4) Candidates should upload scanned images of their photograph and signature along with their personal & academic details.
5) Candidates can download the acknowledgment page as proof of successful submission of the application form.

Processing charges and Goods & Service Taxes (GST) are to be paid by the candidate, as applicable.
The fee may be paid either by credit/debit card or through an e-challan generated during the online filling of the application form. For e-challan, payment should be made in Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank in cash.
1) For calculating the All India Rank, no weightage will be given to intermediate marks.
2) Candidates must at least have 75% (65% for SC/ST) in higher secondary or 20 percentile in Class 12 examinations to get admissions in the top reputed colleges like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
3) The Aadhaar Card is mandatory for JEE Main Registration.
4) Candidates from Meghalaya, J & K, and Assam are excluded from this provision. Such candidates have to enter their passport number, ration card number, bank account number, or any other valid Govt. identity number to get to the examination center in these states only.
1) A Candidate who has passed the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or is appearing in the Class 12/equivalent examination in 2025, is eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2025.
2) Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in the Class XII/qualifying examination of which three must be Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
3) Age: The date of birth of the candidate should be on or after October 01, 1996, and are eligible. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, it is October 01, 1991.
4) Candidates who hold diploma degrees are eligible for JEE Main 2025 exam but not for JEE Main 2025 admissions. They are allowed JEE Main 2025 acting as an eligibility test for JEE Advanced 2025.
5) The number of attempts for JEE Main shall be limited to 03 (three).
i) Each question is allotted 4 marks for the correct answer. 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
ii) No deduction from the total score will be made if no response is indicated for a question.
iii) The duration of the examination is 3 Hours.

Paper I which is for Engineering is comprised of the syllabus from the subjects Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
Paper II which is for Architecture is comprised of the syllabus from the subjects Mathematics, Aptitude, and Drawing.
The syllabus of JEE (Main) - 2025 is the same as that of the last year. However, keeping in view the decisions taken by different Boards all over India, NTA has decided that there will be a total of 90 Questions in the Question Paper and the candidates will be required to attempt 75 questions only. The syllabus is available in Appendix VI in the Information Bulletin on the official website.
Candidates need not forward/submit any document(s) including the Confirmation Page to NTA through Post/Fax/WhatsApp/Email/by Hand. Gen-EWS/SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwD candidates are required to upload original certificates as per prescribed formats issued by the Competent Authority of their respective State. In case, any candidate does not have the certificate readily available is required to upload a “self-undertaking” in the prescribed format as available in the Information Bulletin.
In the event of missing the opportunity for Session 1, the candidate can fill up the Application Form for Session 2 (May 2025) as and when the portal for that session is opened. Accordingly, he can appear in the 2 Sessions of the examination. At the same time, it is left to the choice of the candidate to appear for one or both sessions, if applied for both sessions by the time schedule and not together.
However, if a candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the JEE (Main) - 2025 NTA Scores will be considered for preparation of the Merit List/ Ranking.
Candidates must exercise strict care while filling up their Online Application Form, and NTA is not responsible for any mistake committed by the students if any. Further, NTA clarified that no opportunity will be provided to the candidates for any corrections subsequently. There is no scope for cancellation or withdrawal of online applications once submitted and fees once paid shall not be returned/refunded under any circumstances.
JEE MAIN 2025: Declaration of Income:
Candidates must enter Parents/Guardian's Gross Annual Income (Father/Guardian, Mother/Guardian, or Father/Mother/Guardian’s from any other sources) being the mandatory field.
The choice of city/Examination Centre will be displayed based on the permanent and present address filled in on the online application and the students must select it.
As far as feasible, the examination centre for a candidate shall be allotted as per the choice of cities or within the City Jurisdiction of the candidates exercised in his/her online Application form. However, due to administrative/logistic reasons, a different city may be allotted. NTA shall not allot a Centre for examination manually.
The date/shift/slot of examination is allotted by computer randomly which is required for the normalization process. Hence the choice of date and shift/slot cannot be provided by the candidate himself/herself.
A copy of the Confirmation Page / Acknowledgement of the online Application Form for a session will be generated only after the successful payment of the requisite fee by the Candidate. A copy of the Confirmation Page / Acknowledgement of JEE (Main) - 2025 will be sent to the registered e-mail address of the Candidates.
SANDERS APP, an instant messaging system of the Government of India must be downloaded and installed on the Mobile devices of the candidates. SANDERS can be utilized as a secondary channel to receive notifications/updates from NTA from time to time. Steps to be followed to download Sande's app are as under:
The result of JEE (Main) - 2025 will be uploaded on the NTA website www.nta.ac.in and https://jeemain.nta.nic.in/ as per schedule. However, a copy of the Final Scorecard of JEE (Main) – 2025 will be sent to the registered e-mail address of the Candidates.
JEE 2025 Leaving the Examination Hall:
No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall/room till the end of the timings of the examination
The category-wise distribution of the top 2,50,000 JEE Main 2025 Rank Holders who will be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced 2025 are as follows:
1) Counselling is in the hands of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). They conduct centralized counselling to get admissions for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs.
2) According to the rank obtained and merit list candidates will be called for the counselling procedure.
3) For colleges at the State level, candidates have to participate in separate state counselling.
JEE MAIN is a tough examination conducted in India, cracking of which will enable aspiring students to gain admission in prestigious NITs, IITs, etc., As such, students intending to appear in this examination must focus on the preparation with a strategy.
