The course which I have opted i.e, Electronics and Instrumentation was because the scope for electronics in the near future is increasing rapidly and also I was quite interested in electrical circuits and devices from my very childhood. In DSCE we have proper labs for different aspects concerning electronics which help us with in hand practical knowledge and expertise in the subject. The labs are well maintained and the faculty for my department are good and supportive and have a good knowledge/expertise in their subject. Small internals for 50 marks are conducted three times per semester along with some sort of quizzes or a small class test which together constitutes the CIE and has total weightage of 50 Marks. There is a final exam known as SEE which is conducted for 100 marks and is reduced to 50 marks. So we are evaluated for a total of (CIE+SEE) 100 marks per semester More...

Things I Liked: 1. The faculty expertise is commendable. They are knowledgeable, approachable, and provide helpful mentorship for academic and career-related guidance. 2. The campus infrastructure includes well-equipped labs, a library with a good collection of books, and decent classrooms that support the learning experience. 3. Social interactions are vibrant, with active campus life involving clubs, cultural events, and technical fests that encourage student participation and bonding. 4. The course curriculum is well-aligned with industry needs, offering practical exposure through projects and workshops. 5. Scholarships and financial aid options, such as e-Grants and NSP, make education accessible to students from various backgrounds. Things I Disliked: 1. The placement services need improvement, as the opportunities provided are limited and not well-suited for all branches. 2. The hostel facilities could be better maintained, with issues like cleanliness and basic amenities requiring attention. 3. The ratio of boys to girls is skewed, with significantly fewer girls, which could impact the diversity of interactions. 4. Some teaching methods rely too heavily on theoretical knowledge rather than focusing on hands-on learning and modern tools. 5. Campus connectivity is a challenge, as it is located in a remote area, making transportation and access More...

Bangalore Institute of Dental Sciences And Hospital Bangalore, Karnataka
"Review of college's faculties associated and the infrastruct"
Name: Aryan | Batch of 2028 | Rating 3.5
Course:
Doesn't Recommend this college
I recently had the opportunity to experience the facilities and academic environment at the college, and overall, my experience was quite positive, although there are areas that could benefit from improvement. First and foremost, the college's infrastructure is impressive. The campus is vast and well-maintained, with modern classrooms and lecture halls equipped with the latest audiovisual technologies. The library is spacious, with a wide range of textbooks and journals available to support the academic needs of students. Additionally, the college has state-of-the-art laboratories, which are essential for practical learning and research in medical science. The hospital attached to the college provides students with hands-on clinical exposure, which is crucial for developing the skills necessary to become a competent healthcare professional. The faculty at the college is highly qualified, with many professors holding advanced degrees and extensive experience in their respective fields. The teaching methodology is a blend of traditional lectures, interactive discussions, and practical sessions. However, there could be more focus on student-centered learning and less on one-way lectures. The professors are generally approachable, but there are occasional instances where more timely feedback would be appreciated, particularly in assessments and practical exams. One of the standout features of the college is its emphasis on research and innovation. There are several opportunities for students to engage in research projects, and the college often holds workshops and seminars to promote academic growth. However, the resources for research could be expanded, as there is limited access to advanced research equipment and funding. The campus culture is generally welcoming and supportive. The student body is diverse, and there is a sense of camaraderie among students. Extracurricular activities are encouraged, with several clubs and societies catering to various interests, from medical-related clubs to sports and cultural events. However, some students have expressed concerns about the lack of sufficient recreational spaces and student lounges where they can unwind. On the downside, the hostel facilities could use some improvement. While the rooms are adequately furnished, the cleanliness and maintenance standards are not always up to par. The food quality in the hostel dining hall has been a point of contention for many, with complaints about taste and variety. Overall, the college offers a solid academic foundation for aspiring doctors, but there is room for growth in terms of infrastructure, research opportunities, and student welfare services. With some adjustments in these areas, the college has the potential to become one of the leading medical institutions in the country. More...

National Institute of Technology Durgapur Burdwan, West Bengal
"All About NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGYt DURGAPUR"
Name: Raghav Maheshwari | Batch of 2028 | Rating 4
Course: B.E / B.Tech (Chemical Engineering)
Recommends this college
NIT Durgapur offers a robust academic environment with a well-structured curriculum. The faculty members are knowledgeable and have a strong academic background. The institute is known for its emphasis on research, especially in fields like engineering, computer science, and technology. Students are encouraged to engage in hands-on projects and internships that align with industry standards, preparing them well for their careers. Infrastructure: 4.0/5 The campus is spacious with state-of-the-art facilities, including modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, and research centers. The library is well-stocked with books and digital resources. The hostels, though functional, could be more modern, with some students reporting issues regarding maintenance and cleanliness. Overall, the infrastructure is adequate, but there’s room for improvement in certain areas, especially with regard to hostel facilities. Placements: 4.3/5 NIT Durgapur has a strong track record of campus placements. Top tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and Oracle recruit students, with competitive salaries offered to graduates. The placement cell is active and provides various training sessions to prepare students for interviews. However, students in certain non-technical branches might find placement opportunities slightly more limited. Extracurricular Activities: 4.0/5 The institute promotes a healthy balance between academics and extracurricular activities. There are various student-run clubs, events, and fests (like Spring Fest and NITD Alumni Meet) that cater to different interests, from cultural to technical and sports. However, the overall support for startups or innovation hubs could be better, especially considering the potential of a growing student base. Campus Life: 4.2/5 The campus has a vibrant social scene with diverse student groups and active participation in events. The surrounding city of Durgapur offers a peaceful atmosphere, which is conducive to academic growth, but students looking for a bustling urban environment may find it a bit quiet. The food in the mess and canteens is decent, though some students feel there could be more variety. Faculty: 4.4/5 The faculty at NIT Durgapur is highly qualified and experienced. Many professors hold PhDs and have strong industry connections. The teaching style is generally student-centric, with an emphasis on practical learning. However, as with many institutions, the teaching quality can vary from department to department. Student Support and Facilities: 3.8/5 The student support system is well-established, offering counseling services, career guidance, and academic assistance. However, there could be more attention given to mental health and well-being, particularly given the pressures faced by students. Wi-Fi and internet connectivity on campus are decent but could be improved during peak usage times. Final Thoughts Overall, NIT Durgapur offers a solid academic and campus experience, making it a good choice for students pursuing a career in engineering. While there are a few areas that can be improved (like hostel facilities and extracurricular innovation), the strengths in academics, research opportunities, and placements make it a well-rounded institution. If you're looking for a reputed engineering college with a strong technical focus, NIT Durgapur is definitely worth considering More...
