The National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) administers the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) to candidates seeking admission to law programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels. This is a national entrance exam that is solely held for NLU Delhi law program admission. The exam will take place from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm using pen and paper. The AILET 2024 Admit Card was announced by the National Law University (NLU), Delhi on November 24, 2023. The exam is scheduled for December 10, 2023. Multiple-choice questions covering English, General Knowledge, Legal Aptitude, Reasoning, and Elementary Mathematics make up the exam. There are 150 questions in all, and the exam lasts for one hour and thirty minutes.

The exam is known for its rigorous evaluation and is an important entry point for students aspiring to study law at NLU Delhi.

For admission to NLU Delhi, no other entrance exam is acceptable. Moreover, NLU Delhi will not accept scores from the CLAT 2024.

AILET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The qualifying requirements must be met by applicants seeking admission to NLU Delhi through AILET 2024, as the university will only shortlist qualified individuals. For each course, the eligibility requirements for AILET 2024 have been addressed separately. Below are the full eligibility requirements for AILET 2024.

Eligibility Criteria for BA.LLB-

  • Candidates must have passed their class 12 exams with minimum 45% scores from a recognized institute.
  • SC/ST/PwD candidates must score a minimum 40% aggregate score in their class 12.
  • Candidates who are appearing for their class 12 exams are also eligible to appear for the AILET 2024 exam.

Eligibility Criteria for LLM-

  • Candidates must have received at least 50% of their LLB or an equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
  • Candidates who identify as SC, ST, or PwD must receive at least a 44% overall in their LLB course.
  • Applicants may also sit for the AILET 2024 exam if they are in their last year or semester of an LLB degree.

Eligibility Criteria for PhD-

  • Candidates must have completed their LLM programme or an equivalent degree exam with minimum 55% scores from a recognized institute.
  • SC/ST/PwD candidates must score a minimum 50% aggregate score in their LLM programme.

There is no age limit to take up the AILET exam.

AILET 2024 Application Process

Application process for AILET Exam 2024 are closed now, AILET exam will be going to held on 10th December 2023.

Steps of Application Process-

  • Visit the National Law University of Delhi's official website, nationallawunviersitydelhi.in, or the AILET portal.
  • Find and click on the link for the AILET application.
  • Fill out the registration form with your name, email address, phone number, and other necessary information. To access the application form, you will receive login credentials.
  • Enter your address, nationality, category, date of birth, gender, and other personal data when logging in with the login credentials you received at registration.
  • For the B.A. LL.B. program, provide information about your 10+2 exam or equivalent; for the LLM program, provide information about your LL.B. (or equivalent) credentials.
  • Upload the scanned copies of the required documents that the application form specifies.
  • Select the program you are applying to, such as the LL.M. or the B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) program. Choose your category and, if any, any additional preferences.
  • Use one of the offered payment methods to submit the necessary application fee.
  • Before submitting the application form, carefully check all the information you supplied.
  • Take a hardcopy of the completed application form for your records when it has been successfully submitted.

AILET 2024 Admit card

On November 24, 2023, the National Law University (NLU), Delhi had already released AILET 2024 Admit Card at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in.

Steps to download the admit card-

  • Go to http://www.nludelhi.ac.in, the official website of NLU Delhi.
  • To access AILET Admissions, click the button.
  • Click on the 'Already Registered? Login' button.
  • After being redirected, you must input the following information in the login window: Password & Application number
  • Press the Login button.
  • View the AILET admission card, download it, save it, and print it.

After the exam, NLU Delhi will release the AILET 2024 results within a month. By entering their credentials on the result login box, candidates can verify if they are qualified for the entrance exam for the BA, LLB, and LLM. Details such as the candidate's rank, qualifying status, and marks will be included in the AILET 2024 result-cum-scorecard.

Ques.1 What is the maximum and minimum age limit for appearing in the AILET 2024?

Ans. There is no maximum and minimum age limit for appearing in the AILET 2024 for any programme.

Ques.2 How long does the AILET exam take?

Ans. AILET 2024 is scheduled  for two hours.

Ques.3 Will the AILET 2024 take place offline (with a pen and paper) or online?

Ans. The AILET 2024 will be administered offline, using pen and paper with an OMR sheet format.

Ques.4 Is there any application fee for AILET 2024?

Ans. Yes, there is a Rs. 3,500/- application cost. The application cost for individuals who are SC/ST or PWDs is Rs. 1,500. SC/ST applicants who fall below poverty line (BPL) are not required to pay an application fee.

Ques.5 Are there any negative marks in the 2024 AILTE?

Ans. Yes, there will be negative marking in the MCQ sections solely of the AILET in 2024. According to the calculation 0.25*4=1, 0.25 marks will be subtracted for each incorrect response. This is the basis for the negative marking criteria.
