MHT CET 2025 Exam Pattern

The test pattern of MHT CET 2025 includes information about the total time allotted to complete the test, the mode of the exam, sections and sectional weightage in the paper, the marking scheme, and the total number of questions and marks allotted, etc. The MHT CET exam pattern 2025 mentions that the questions will be application base. The MHT CET questions will be based on the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. There is no negative marking and the difficulty level of the exam will be at par with JEE Main. Twenty percent weightage will be given to the standard XI curriculum and 80% weightage will be given to the standard XII curriculum in the question paper of MHT CET. Candidates will have to answer questions from Physics, Maths, and Chemistry from the complete syllabus of Class XII.

MHT CET Exam Pattern 2025

  • MHT CET 2025 will be conducted from April 2025 through Online mode. The test will have 2 papers – Paper-I (Mathematics) & Paper-II (Physics & Chemistry) and all candidates have to appear in both papers.
  • Each paper will be for 1.30 hours. Paper I and Paper II will carry a weightage of 100 marks.
  • Paper-I will have a total of 50 questions, while Paper II will carry 100 questions, 50 questions each from Physics and Chemistry.
  • Each correct answer in Paper I will be given 2 marks, while each correct answer in Paper-II will be awarded 1 mark.
  • Paper-I will be held in English language only, while Paper-II (Physics & Chemistry) will be held in English/Hindi/Marathi languages.
  • There will be no negative markings in the test.
  • Mode of MH CET 2025 :   Online – Computer-Based Test (CBT)
  • Method of Questions :   Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
  • Total No.of Questions for PCM :   150
  • Total No.of Questions for PCB :    150
  • Total No.of Papers :    3 (three)
    • Paper 1 (Mathematics)
    • Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry)
    • Paper 3 (Biology)
  • Medium of Question Paper :    (1) English (2) Marathi  (3) Urdu
  • Duration of Examination :    3 Hours (180 minutes)
  • Negative Marking :    No Negative marking for wrong answers.

Important Note:

  • Candidates who are seeking admission to first year Engineering and Technology degree courses, it is mandatory to appear in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) subjects.
  • Candidates who are seeking admission to first year Pharmacy/PharmaD Degree courses, it is mandatory to appear for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as well as Mathematics and/or Biology.
  • If candidates who are appearing for both the groups PCM and PCB, the percentile/percentage score of Physics or Chemistry will not be interchanged among the groups.
  • While medium of examination is English, Marathi and Urdu for Physics, Chemistry and Biology, for Mathematics it is English only. Hence, candidates must select the medium carefully as once option exercised cannot be reversed later.
