IIITDM Kurnool is the youngest fully funded Central IIIT established by the Govt. of India in 2014-15 under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act 2014. The permanent campus is located at Jagannathagattu in Kurnool district of AP. Admissions are merit-based on the scores of JEE Main followed by JoSAA and CSAB Counselling. IIITDM has 4 branches CSE, AIDS, ECE and ME. The Institute is one of the 3 Design and Manufacturing IIITs along with Jabalpur and Kancheepuram. Apart from the B. Tech programmes, the Institute has Integrated programs, M. Tech and PhD as well. There are nearly 900 students currently studying at IIIT-K across all disciplines. B. Tech in CSE, ME, and ECE offers specialization in Design and Manufacturing. The campus is under construction for the 2nd phase. In February 2024, the campus was virtually inaugrated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Prof. BS Murty (Director, IIT Hyderabad) is the officiating Director of our College. Since it has been only 10 years of establishment of IIIT-K, the overall placements and campus life is still not at par with other IIITs and NITs.

Campus Facilities: The campus is located on Jagannathagattu Hill, Rayalseema region of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. We have a 150 acre sprawling campus area allocated by the State Govt. with 3 boys hostels and a girls hostel, all sports facilities including a Cricket stadium, football turf, badminton courts, tennis courts and other necessary facilities. We have state of the art classrooms and laboratries. The campus is fully WIFI enabled. There are 3 seminar halls (auditoriums) for functional occasions and gatherings. There are 3 cafeterias and a super-market in the campus for all of our basic needs.

Campus Life: Solasta is the techno-cultural fest of IIITDM Kurnool. It was started in 2019 after the permanent campus became fully functional. In 2024, the second edition took place after 2019 due to the covid pandemic and other unforseen circumstances. There are various events, dance and signing competitons, games, food stalls, DJ night and every other thing that happens in a College fest.

Faculty: Most of the faculty have done their Graduation and PhD from Institutes of National Importance (IIITs, IISc, IITs, NITs). They are well qualified and experiences.

Placements: Overall, the placements are decent with various companies visiting the campus and many students apply for off-campus as well. Location factor is another big advantage for IIITDM Kurnool (Hyderabad-Bengaluru corridor). Samsung R&D BLR has established an Innovation centre at our campus. Internships oppurtunities are well. But still we are not at par with other Central IIITs like Allahabad and Gwalior in this parameter.
