MAH CET 2025: Normalistion process for MBA, MCA scores | Explained

MAH CET 2025 Normalisation: The Common Entrance Test (CET) cell, Maharashtra, has released the normalisation method for MAH CET 2025 for MBA and MCA programmes to ensure fairness in score calculation, as the exams are conducted in multiple shifts with varying difficulty levels. The MAH MBA CET 2025 is scheduled between April 1 and 3, while the MAH MCA CET 2025 concluded on March 23.

As mentioned in the MAH CET notice, the percentile scores indicate the percentage of candidates that have scored equal to or below (same or lower raw scores) that particular percentile in that examination. Therefore the topper that is the highest scorer of each session will get the same percentile of 100 which is desirable. The marks obtained between the highest and lowest scores are also converted to appropriate percentiles.

Here is the procedure for normalisation and preparation for percentile score

Distribution of examinees in two days and two shifts per day candidates would be distributed into four sessions randomly so that each session has an approximately equal number of candidates. These four sessions would be as follows:

Session-1: Day-1 Batch 1-1

Session-2: Day-1 batch-2

Session-3: Day-2 Batch-1

Session- 4: Day-2 Batch-2

In the event of more number of days or more number of shifts, the candidates will be divided accordingly. This will ensure that there is no bias in the distribution of candidates who shall take the examination. Further, with a large population of examinees spread over the entire country, the possibility of such bias becomes remote. The percentile of all four sessions will be calculated separately for the total raw score.

The MAH CET 2025 percentile scores will be calculated up to seven decimal places to minimize bunching effects and reduce ties. The CET cell has clarified that the overall percentile will not be derived as an aggregate or average of the percentiles from individual subjects. Additionally, the percentile score differs from the percentage of marks obtained.

Meanwhile, the MHT CET 2025 for PCM is set to take place from April 19 to 27, while the PCB exams will be conducted from April 9 to 17.

At the same time, the schedule for the MAH LLB 3-Year CET Exam 2025 has been changed. The exam, originally set for March 20 and 21, will now take place on May 3 and 4 due to a clash with Mumbai University exams. Candidates can find the official notice on the MAHACET website at mahacet.org.
