Two Kashmiri friends living in Pulwama and Kulgam cracked JEE Main 2025 in their first attempt. Simrah Mir and Sadaf Mushtaq scored 99.39 and 99.50 percentile, respectively in the JEE Main session 1. Amid the challenges of weather and internet shutdowns, the girl’s determination stood unwavering. Both are focusing on JEE Advanced.
Hailing from Pulwama, Kashmir Sadaf was also the state topper in the Class 10 board examinations. She claims that education is a powerful tool through which they can transform and motivate more girls to crack high-stakes exams. With the help of their parents and RISE, a local coaching institute, she conquered her dream.
Sadaf Mushtaq said, “JEE felt like an uphill battle with the syllabus and high competition, but I relied on self-belief and consistent hard work. Late-night revisions, endless mock tests, and resilience kept me going. Now, I aspire to become an engineer and inspire more Kashmiri girls to break barriers and pursue their dreams.”
For her friend, Simrah Mir, balancing JEE preparation with her expectations was the real challenge to her. “I stayed focused by creating a disciplined study plan and never letting doubts overpower my determination. My dream is to study at IIT and use technology to solve real-world problems, especially in underprivileged communities,” said Mir.
