CUET UG 2024: Admission process in DU, Jamia and JNU, documents required; here’s all you need to know

The National Testing Agency (NTA) Sunday released the results for the Common University Cum Entrance Test (CUET) for the undergraduate courses. Soon universities and colleges will release the dates for the counselling session and seat allotment results. Before they start the admission process, here is what you need to know about the counselling.

CUET UG 2024 counselling dates, registration and documents are different and depend upon the college or universities a candidate applies for. There are a few common things which should be followed in the process. This article outlines and aims to simplify the whole process for you!

CUET UG: Documents

Candidates should remember that they must have photocopies of all the documents. At least 2 photocopies are a must along with original certificates and marksheets. These documents will be submitted to the respective college for verification.

  • Class 10, and 12 original mark sheets
  • CUET UG admit card
  • CUET UG application form
  • Identification cards like Aadhar cards, PAN cards etc
  • Passport size picture
  • Online payment receipt
  • Transfer certificate
  • Migration certificate

On the other hand, foreign nationals should bring the above documents and will have to include some extra documents mentioned below:

  • PIO/OCI certificates whichever is available.
  • Copy of passport and visa details
  • Medical fitness certificate from any recognised practitioner certified by the Medical Council of India
  • Resident permit

CUET UG: Application Fees

The CUET UG application fees depend upon the universities and colleges. It is the discretion of respective institutes  to decide on the application fees.

Admission process of Delhi University

If a student is interested to get admission in DU, they must register themselves to DU CSAS portal. On the portal, students will have to select course and a few colleges of their choice. Then according to their choices and scores in CUET UG, the University will provide them with colleges. If a student is satisfied with the institution given they can visit the college and submit the documents for verification. They can confirm their admission by paying the fees of the college.

Usually the admission process of the DU is conducted in three phases. The University has not announced any dates to correct the DU CSAS portal for admission process. Once the correction window is closed, DU might notify the dates for the seat allotment, document verification, fee and withdrawn admission dates. The University also conducts a spot admission for vacant seats.

Admission process for Jamia Millia Islamia

Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI) will soon prepare and release the admission merit list which will be based on CUET UG scores. The University will consider scores and reservation criteria while formulating the meri list. According to the merit list, students will then have visit the University and submit the asked documents for verification and admission. Once the procedure is completed, students will have to complete the procedure by paying the fees.

Admission process for JNU

CUET UG candidates must have mentioned JNU during the CUET application process to apply for the admission. These candidates can directly apply for the admission process through JNU CUET Counselling. Interested candidates will have to fill the form of JNU UG Courses, it is similar to CSAS portal of DU. The varsity will prepare a merit list on its official website. Once out, seat allotment counselling process will begin and the institute will provide provisional admission letter to the students whose process will be completed and just fees amount will be left.
