Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TGTET) is conducted by the Department of School Education, Government of Telangana in order to shortlist candidates for appointment as teachers for Classes I to VIII in Telangana State.
All candidates who have qualifications in B Ed / D Ed/ Language Pandit or equivalent are eligible to apply for the TGTET 2025 exam. For teacher recruitment conducted by the State Government, 20% weightage is given to the TGTET score and 80% weightage is given to the written test conducted in the Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT). The TGTET exam is conducted once a year. TGTET 2025 exam dates are not out yet.
Recruiting more teachers is a must for the proper and correct implementation of the Right of Children for Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act 2009 and hence the enormous task of recruiting teachers has started. The main point to be considered in this big work is quality and it should not be diluted at any cost. Taking all these points into consideration, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has been conducting the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) every year.
Pay the TGTET Application Fee
The candidates need to pay TGTET 2025 application fee in online mode through ONLINE or a payment gateway.
TGTET Application Fee - Rs 200
At ONLINE or payment gateway candidates need to enter some basic information such as their name, date of birth, mobile number, etc.
On receipt of the fee, candidates will be allotted a journal number with which they can proceed toward the next step of the TGTET application process.
Next, candidates need to start filling out the TGTET 2025 application form by clicking on the Application Form link present on the exam website. Details to be filled in the form are:
After all details are filled candidates need to submit the form by clicking on the Submit button and taking a printout of the confirmation page. On submission of the application form, a reference ID number will be generated that candidates need to note for future reference.
Once the reference ID number is received by the candidate, his/ her application process will be complete.
The candidates at the time of applying for TG-TET should be in possession of the following minimum qualifications prescribed for the category of I to V classes (Paper- I) and VI to VIII classes (Paper - II) separately.
Minimum qualifications for TG-TET paper - II (Classes I to V):-
(i) Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks. However, in the case of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. AND pass in 2 - a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education / a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
OR
(ii) Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks. In respect of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. AND pass in 2 - year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) / 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or been admitted to D.El.Ed / D.Ed., course prior to the issue of these guidelines (23-12-2015).
Minimum qualifications for TG-TET paper - II (Classes VI to VIII):-
(i) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., with at least 50% marks. In the case of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. AND pass the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education).
(ii) B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., with at least 50% marks. In respect of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. AND pass the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course / Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education) in case of the candidates who have passed or are admitted to the B.Ed., course prior to the issue of these guidelines (23-12-2015).
(iii) 4-year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed., with at least 50% marks, in the case of SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%.
(iv) Graduation with Language concerned as one of the optional subjects OR Bachelor of oriental language (or its equivalent) OR Graduation in literature OR Post Graduation in Language concerned ANDLanguage Pandit Training Certificate/B. Ed with language concerns as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers.
TGTET 2025 Pattern
TGTET exam pattern is such that the teaching entrance exam will contain two papers. Paper, I will be for candidates who wish to teach Classes I – V and Paper II will be for candidates who wish to teach Classes VI-VIII. Candidates who wish to teach all classes starting from I – VIII need to appear for both papers (if eligible).
TGTET Exam Pattern for Paper I
TGTET 2025 exam pattern for Paper I is such that the question paper will contain a total of 150 multiple choice questions that candidates need to complete in a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

TGTET Exam Pattern for Paper II
Similar to the TGTET exam pattern for Paper I, TGTET 2025 exam pattern for Paper II is such that there will be 150 multiple-choice questions in the exam that candidates need to complete in a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

TG TET 2025 Syllabus
The TGTET 2025 syllabus is not out yet. However, candidates can go through the TGTET syllabus of last year in order to perform well in the exam.
TG TET 2025 Admit Card
Candidates can download their TGTET 2025 admit cards from the official website of the exam as per the prescribed schedule. TGTET admit cards for the academic session, 2025-24 are expected to be released in July.
To download their admit card (also known as hall ticket) candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps:
TGTET 2025 admit card will appear on the screen. Once the admit card is downloaded, candidates need to check for discrepancies of information (such as candidate’s name, photograph, signature, etc), if any and report it to the exam authorities immediately for correction. If all information provided in the admit card is correct, candidates need to take its printout and carry it to the allotted exam center.
TG TET 2025 Result
TGTET results are released on the official website of the exam as per the prescribed date once the written exam is conducted. The date for the release of TGTET 2025 results is not out yet. However, for the last academic year, results for the teacher eligibility test were declared in August 2017.
Candidates can check TGTET results by following the below-mentioned steps:
TGTET 2025 results will appear on the screen. The result of the teacher eligibility test will contain details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, marks secured, etc.
