The West Bengal Council of Rabindra Open School is a wing of the School Education Department in 1997 by the Government of West Bengal. The West Bengal Council of Rabindra Open Schooling is aimed at providing Secondary (Madhyamik) and Higher Secondary levels of education to the millions of disadvantaged learners, school drop-outs, unemployed and self-employed young men and women, whole-time or part-time workers in different establishments, peasants and elderly men and women, unsuccessful learners of the formal system, physically and mentally challenged, slow learners and other weaker sections of the people. The WBCROS has its own curricula for different courses of study like the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary and has its own syllabi for the different subjects offered. These are very similar to the syllabi offered by the formal system of education in West Bengal.

WBCROS Results
The West Bengal Council of Rabindra Open Schooling will conduct its 10th and 12th examinations. The exams for the 10th class will be conducted in June, and the Rabindra Open School 10th Results will be declared after two months after the examination. The higher secondary examination of the west Bengal open school will be conducted in the month of September and the Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya Madhyamik 2023 will be declared in the month of November/December.
