TNTET 2024 – Eligibility Criteria

Candidates appearing for TNTET 2024 are required to fulfill certain eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria are based on paper 1 and paper 2 that are listed below.

• For Primary School Teachers, a candidate should have qualified in their 10+2 level along with B. Ed or Nursery Teacher Training Degree with 2 years of BTC in Urdu.
• For Secondary School Teacher, a candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree with B. Ed with a minimum aggregate of 50%.
• Candidates should be aged between 18 – 40 years.

For Paper 1:

• Candidates are required to be qualified in their 10+2 level.
• Candidates should have a Diploma in Teacher Education, DIET, or Diploma in Elementary Education from a Recognized Teacher Training Institute.
• Candidates who are in their final year of D. El. Ed are also eligible.

For Paper 2:

• Candidates should have a minimum qualification in BA/ B.Sc. / B. Litt. in Tamil with subjects such as – Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and Geography as main subjects. 
• Candidates should have a B. Ed degree from a recognized University.
• Candidates who are in their final year of B. Ed are also eligible.

TNTET 2024 – Registration/Application Process

The registration and application process will start on 14^th March 2024 and will continue till 26^th April 2024. The process will be done through online mode.

Step – 1: Candidates are required to visit the official website to begin the registration and application process.

Step – 2: Candidates are then required to register themselves online through the website portal and follow the steps. After registration is done, candidates are then required to fill in the application form.

Step – 3: In the final step, candidates are then required to make the payment for the application form through online mode only.

Following is the list of the fee structure based on the categories of the candidates.

Candidates can also purchase the application forms by paying an amount of INR 50/- from the Head Masters of the Higher Secondary Schools that are notified by the Chief Educational Officers.
