NID 2025: National Institute of Design (NID) offers admissions to applicants in Bachelor of Design (BDes) and also Master of Design (MDes) programs on the premise of their execution in NID Design Aptitude Test. With a specific end goal to secure confirmation in configuration programs offered at National Institute of Design (NID) aspirants need to partake in NID DAT (Prelims) and NID DAT (Mains). Applicants who are shortlisted in NID DAT (Prelims) can show up for NID DAT (Mains) confirmation round. Add up to number of seats on offer in BDes programs at NID is 100 though MDes seats for confirmations are 275 in number.

NID 2025 Application Form

• Candidates can fill up the NID form via online mode by visiting the NID official site of the authority.
• The application form for NID 2025 will be available from the 3rd September 2024.
• The last date to submit the application will be 3rd December 2024 (without a late fee).
• The accepted forms of payment for the submission of the NID application free are debit/credit card or by-demand draft.
• Candidates should note that once the NID application fee is submitted, it will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Application Fee

• The application fee will be Rs. 2000 for the candidates of the general category.
• The application fee will be Rs. 1000 for the candidates of the reserved category.

NID 2025 Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for undergraduate courses:

• Candidates must have passed the 12th examination or those appearing in 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board to satisfy the eligibility criteria for NID.
• The maximum age limit for the NID candidates to appear for the exam is 20 years for them to satisfy the eligibility criteria for NID.
• However for reserved category candidates, the age limit is different, there will be a relaxation of three years.

Eligibility criteria for postgraduate courses:

• The maximum age limit is 30 years of age for them to satisfy the eligibility criteria for NID. However the reserved category has a different age limit, three years relaxation is allowed for reserved category.
• Candidates should have cleared the bachelor's degree to satisfy the eligibility criteria for NID. Those appearing in a bachelor's degree in any discipline from any institution or university recognized by law in India are also eligible to apply.

NID 2025 Exam Pattern

Exam Mode: It is a pen and paper-based test.

Exam Duration: The time assigned to answer the DAT prelims question paper is 3 hours.

Type of Questions: Part-1 will include multiple-choice questions while part 2 is of subjective type.

Parts: DAT Prelims will be conducted in two parts. DAT Mains for M.Des will consist of two parts: studio test and interviews.

Total points: There will be a total 100 points each for DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.

Language: The question paper language will be English only.

Negative Marking: There is no negative marking.

NID 2025 Admit Cards

• The NID 2025 Admit Card will be available on the official website.
• Candidates need to download and take the printout of the admit card.
• The admit card will have information about the exam’s venue, date and reporting time at the examination Centre.
• Candidates will be required to take the admit card with them at the examination venue.

NID 2025 Results

NID 2025 result of DAT prelims for M.Des will be declared on 6th May 2025 and B.Des / GDPD program will be announced on 16th May 2025. The result will be declared on the official website of NID. The final merit list after conducting all the rounds of the admission process will be published category-wise based on scores obtained at each stage.

NID 2025 Counselling

• Successful candidates can now begin the NID admission process and will get admission to NID on the basis of category-wise, final merit list.
• The shortlisted candidates who will be informed about the NID Counselling date are required to report to the respective admission process.
• Candidates must produce their original documents at the time of NID admission and counseling.
• The students can pay the required NID fee at the time of counseling.
• These documents must include valid educational certificates and relevant caste or disability certificates if applicable for the document verification process.

NID 2025 Preparation

Students must go through the NID syllabus carefully and start the preparations accordingly.
