Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh has signed MoUs (Memorandum of Understandings) on 5th March, 2025 with ten global and Indian MNCs to integrate industry expertise into academic programs. This milestone collaboration is set to revolutionize education by integrating industry expertise into academic programs, equipping students with future-ready skills.
The MoU signing ceremony serves as a landmark occasion with associations made with some global giants such as Google, Microsoft, IBM, SAS, Rabbitt AI, Quick Heal, KPMG, PWC, NSE Academy, and Grant Thornton. The event was attended by the big CEOs, Vice Presidents from these firms, and Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor of Chandigarh University. In this initiative, Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh will start 15 industry collaborative programs comprising 8 undergraduate and 7 postgraduate courses in Engineering, Business & Commerce, and Computer Applications.
As per the collaborations, industry giants will offer Business & Commerce programs. Out of total 15 courses, while 8 UG courses will be offered in B Tech CSE (AI & ML), B Tech CSE Cloud Computing & Data Science, BBA (Fintech), BBA (Fintech) with ACCA, B Com with ACCA, BCA (Data Science), B Tech Civil Engineering and B Tech (Cyber Security) with Com TIA, seven PG courses offered would be in M Tech (AI & ML), MCA (AI & ML), MBA (DS & AI), MBA- Applied Finance, MBA - Fintech, MBA – Business Analytics and MBA (BA).
This tie-up brings Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh the feather-in-cap with being the first university in India to have ten global partners in a single day and glamorously presenting industry-varied programs in fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Data Science, Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Fintech and Cybersecurity. Such introduction entails first time offerings in Uttar Pradesh through partnerships with leading global firms.
The curriculum would be designed and developed collaboratively with industry professionals and academic faculty of the CU UP Campus with the perspective of a comprehensive industry-driven future-ready curriculum. While it integrates the very latest technologies into industry trends and best practices, it will achieve a plausible synergy to bring students closer to the experience of hands-on real-world learning during industry-sponsored live projects.
Students will get hands-on exposure in high-tech industry-sponsored R&D labs and Leading-edge Centres of Excellence (CoEs), with high-octane industry leaders facilitating job placement opportunities for students at graduation. They would also be sponsored by industry-linked programs for their internship experience at prestigious global and Indian firms, further broadening their technical scope and providing insight into actual industry challenges. The chancellor, Satnam Singh Sandhu, agreed with this collaboration, emphasizing that, As per surveys, Indian IT industry is expected to see a 40 per cent increase in AI-related job roles in next 5 years and AI-augmented Chandigarh University Lucknow campus will be instrumental in catering to this job market base by training its students in deep technologies like AI. These collaborations with industry giants will be pivotal in nurturing a futuristic workforce at Chandigarh University Lucknow.
