JEE Advanced 2017 Question Paper and ORS Sheet Instructions

JEE ADVANCED  is conducted in both online and offline i.e. Computer based test and Pen & Paper based test. In the mode pen & paper based test, question papers are given in the form of booklets with codes and sets. Candidate will be given an Optical Response Sheet (ORS) to fill the answers using only Black ball point pen by bubbling the options. The ORS to be given is a machine readable. The instructions given below are for the pen & paper based test. JEE Advanced 201online registration begins from 1st week of Deceber 2018.

Question Papers:

1) There are two question papers: Paper I and Paper II of three hours duration each. Both papers are compulsory.

2) The question paper will be in either English or Hindi. While registering candidates must choose their choice of language. Change of language will NOT be entertained.

3) Each question paper will consist of three separate sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

4) The question papers will consist of objective type (multiple choice and numerical answer type) questions designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.

5) Negative marks will be awarded for incorrect answers to some of the questions.

6) The candidates must carefully read and adhere to the detailed instructions given in the question paper.

Optical Response Sheet (ORS):

1) The answer sheet of each paper of JEE (Advanced) 2017 is a machine-readable ORS.

2) The ORS has two pages with the same lay-out. The first page of the ORS is machine readable. It is designed so as to leave impressions of the responses on the second page.

3) Candidates should not separate or disturb the alignment of the two pages of the ORS at any stage and under any circumstance.

4) The answers to all the questions should be marked on the first page of the ORS by darkening the appropriate bubble. Candidates should use BLACK BALL POINT pen for darkening the bubbles.

5) Candidates should apply adequate pressure to ensure that a proper impression is made on the second page of the ORS.

6) Other instructions for darkening the bubbles will be printed on the question paper and candidates must strictly adhere to these instructions.

7) The second page of the ORS will be handed over to the candidates by the invigilator at the end of the examination.
