Course: B.E / B.Tech (Computer Science and Engineering)
Recommends this college
The experience has been full of ups and downs. The academic curriculum and extra-curricular activities have taught me how to handle pressure and manage time efficiently. The excellent placement records and reputation in software industry encouraged me to select this course over other programs in IITs. The biggest pitfall of the college which is sometimes very frustrating is the fact there is negligible financial assistance provided to extra-curricular activities. However, all this time at MNNIT has pushed me to develop a vibrant personality and enjoy college life to the fullest.

Campus Facilities: College has hostel facilities. Final year hostel rooms are very spacious. 2 and 3 year rooms are very congested. 1st year have 3/4 seaters, 2nd and 3rd year have double seaters and single seaters for final year students. Also, some students from 3rd year with high CPI get bigger rooms. Separate hostels for girls and boys. First year students also have separate hostels. Mess food is average. Nothing special and nothing too bad. Academic blocks and structures are decent with good infrastructure. Campus size is 220 acre. However, only around 100 acre accessible to boys. Only some classrooms have ACs and smart-boards. Rest have fans. Library is average but research material available is quite vast. Labs are decent with good instruments and materials. There are 5-6 canteens across the college. Hostels also have night canteens running late up to 2-3pm. Medical Centre is available where basic medicine is free of cost. Security guards are present at almost all locations. The computer labs have decent connectivity and hardware.
Campus Life: Overall life is interesting only if you are a part of any club/committees. Otherwise life does become quite monotonous with the coding and corporate culture. College crowd involves students from all across India. So it is pretty fun. There are various clubs and committees involved with various extra-curricular activities like dance, arts, dramatics etc. There are various professional committees like steering committee, entrepreneurship cell and socially service societies which are headed by final yr students. Culrav-Avishkar is the annual techno cultural fest. We also have annual literary fest - Eloquence and annual entrepreneurship event - Udbhav as well.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified in their respective fields. Majority of the professors are Ph.D scholars. Classes do have both smart-board and blackboard for teaching. Teachers focus on the evolving needs of the industry and encourage logical thinking and real life problem solving. The teacher to student ratio is average though. Around 1:20. The faculty members are particularly strict in terms of their subjects and demand discipline in terms of academics. As their qualifications suggest, the level of question papers is also quite hard. Dr. Ranvijay, Lt.(Dr.) Divya Kumar and Dr. Mayank Pandey are among my favorite faculty.
Placements: Placement cell at our college comprises of final year students proficient in their respective courses. Training and Placement Office (TPO) brings top MNCs and software companies for recruitment. Companies like JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Microsoft, Oracle, Google, Citicorp, DE Shaw etc. come for internships and placements. Avg. Package- Rs.19.50 LPA Median package- Rs.13.50 LPA Highest package- Rs.72.00 LPA Avg. Package (CSE) – Rs.27.00 LPA

Start Up Incubator: The vibrant entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem supported by the E-Cell (Entrepreneurship Cell), Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), and Cisco ThingQbator has played a crucial role in promoting entrepreneurial spirit among students, especially at a college fully focused on placement records. The E-Cell and IIC are two main bodies that conduct important entrepreneurial events like Udbhav, E-Summit, Tedx Talks, Renaissance etc. under which lectures from industry leaders, pitching events, expert talks, recreational activities are conducted. ThingQbator is one such club that aims at providing funding and resources to new ventures planned by the students.
