Progressive Education Society's Modern College of Engineering was established in the year 1999. The Institute complies with all engineering and management education standards and is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), and the Maharashtra government. It is also permanently affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). The Institute has both NAAC accreditation and UGC recognition.

The Institute offers postgraduate programs in Mechanical Engineering (Heat Power), Electrical Engineering (Control System), Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (Signal Processing), and Computer Engineering (Computer Engineering), as well as MCA and MBA. B.E	Passed the HSC or an equivalent exam with a minimum score of 45% (or at least 40% for candidates from the Maharashtra State's Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability categories) in Physics and Mathematics, one of the required subjects in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Technical Vocational, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, and Business Studies.
M.E	A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, technology, or pharmacy, from an All India Council for Technical Education or a Central or State Government-approved institution, or an equivalent, with a minimum of 50% of the possible points (at least 45% for candidates from the Maharashtra State's Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability categories).
MCA	Scored at least 50% of the possible points overall (at least 45% for students from the Maharashtra State's Backward Class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability categories) in their BCA or Bachelor of Computer Science Engineering degrees, or an equivalent degree.
MBA	Passed a minimum of three years of A bachelor's degree in any field from any university accredited by the Association of Indian Universities or the University Grants Commission, with at least 50% of the possible points overall, or its equivalent (at least 45% for candidates from the Maharashtra State's Persons with Disability, Economically Weaker Section, and Backward Class categories).

MCOE is committed to giving its students access to national and international knowledge experts. To this end, the school regularly hosts national and international conferences, symposia, and seminars on campus.
