Koneru Lakshmaiah Deemed to be University (KL Deemed University) was initially established in 1980 by Er. Koneru Lakshmiah and Koneru Satyanarayana as KL College of Engineering. In the year 2006, this Institute upgraded to an Autonomous College. In the year 2009, this College was declared a Deemed to be University by UGC, MHRD, Government of India. In the year 2012, KL Deemed to be University was accredited by NAAC with an “A” Grade, and in the year 2018, it was re-accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade. KL university was declared a Category ‘I’ Institute by MHRD and UGC in the year 2019.
KL Deemed University of Vijayawada Main Campus is in a sprawling 100-acre land on the banks of Buckingham Canal of River Krishna, about 8 Kilometres from the City of Vijayawada. The Off-campus located at Moinabad, Aziznagar Road was temporarily established in an area of 10,00,000 square feet. Permanent off-campus at Hyderabad is under construction in the Bachupally area. The newly inaugurated B School of KLH University at Kondapur, Hyderabad is now a destination for prospective students to reap advantages such as stipend-assisted internships, a continuation of semesters abroad, participating in twinning programs with international academic partners to obtain dual degrees, etc.

About 84 Non-A/c and 2 A/c buses are operated covering all important rallying points from different areas in Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali, Mangalagiri, Vuyyuru, Kankipadu and Dondapadu. In case of any emergency, Ambulance Service is available 24 hours basis.
