Silicon University Info

Silicon is placed under Band 201-300 in the Engineering category in NIRF Rankings 2024. It is one of the thirteen government/private universities & colleges in Odisha to have received this recognition. Silicon was under Band 151-300 in the NIRF Rankings 2023 for ‘Innovation’, (previously known as ARIIA) by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. The University Grants Commission (UGC) granted autonomous status to Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar for ten years from the 2018-2019 academic year. Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar got upgraded to Silicon University on 31 January 2024. The institute is approved by AICTE, Government of India.

B.E / B.Tech	Engineering	-	All students who pass 10+2 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Computer Science/ IT/ Chemistry / Biochemistry/ Biology as one of the optional subjects from a recognised Indian Board can apply for admissions. Applying students must have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics along with their chosen optional subject. Students from Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste communities should have secured an aggregate minimum of 40% marks.
