SiliconTech, the engineering institute of Silicon University, was established in the eastern Indian state of Odisha in 2001. It is well-known for its community of reputable and committed academic members, gifted and intelligent students, and efficient administrative and support personnel. The Silicon Institute of Technology was founded in 1987 by Sanjeev Nayak and Laxman Mohanty, two young BITS Pilani grads. Silicon Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar (formerly known as SiliconTech) was renamed Silicon University in 2024.

Applying students must have obtained a minimum of 45% (SC/ST 40%) aggregate marks in Physics and Mathematics along with their chosen optional subject.
