PSG College of Technology is an autonomous, government-aided institution with an ISO certification that is also affiliated with Anna University. The PSG & Sons' Charities Trust established this as one of its premier organizations in 1926. The College opened for business in 1951. With 15 engineering and technology departments in addition to the computer applications, management sciences, basic sciences, and humanities departments, the college now enrolls roughly 8518 students. As many as eighteen of the college's several Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs were granted accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation of AICTE in 1997 alone.
The college has received international funding support for a number of noteworthy projects. In the academic year 1978–79, the University of Madras granted the college the AUTONOMOUS STATUS, which was later upheld by Bharathiar University and Anna University. This gives the college the freedom to create its own curriculum, revise existing syllabi, and add new courses as needed. The college has the authority to run its own assessment program.
In an effort to foster deeper collaboration with other academic institutions in the areas of technology development, student training, curriculum upgrading, and the creation of cutting-edge centers, the college has signed Memorandums of Understanding with research organizations and industries.
