Established in 2007, the autonomous, self-financing Kongunadu College of Engineering and Technology (KNCET) is a college of engineering that is recognized by the UGC with 2(f) and 12(B), approved by the AICTE in New Delhi, affiliated with Anna University in Chennai, accredited by the NBA (CSE, ECE, EEE & MECH), NAAC, and certified by ISO 9001:2015. 

Two PG courses in Applied Electronics and CSE are offered by the college, in addition to nine UG courses in CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, Bio-Medical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, and Agri. Eng., and AI & DS. In terms of academic achievement, this college does well when compared to other colleges affiliated with Anna University in Chennai. 

The college has been recognized and awarded by numerous authorities; it has also received research grants from funding agencies like DST, CSIR, AICTE, TNSCST, SERB, ISRO, and EDC for projects; it has organized national and international conferences; it has conducted guest lectures; it has conducted seminars; and it has undertaken consultancy work from a variety of agencies.
