Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute is a private deemed-to-be university located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It received its deemed to be university status in 2003.

With an aim of overcoming the 21st century’s challenges with the help of education and technology, has laid certain objectives to impact a competency-based education and training, to equip students with the latest trends of knowledge, to have an industry-institution interface, to promote the inter-cultural exchanges by bringing together students from different parts of India through provided various different resources which are necessary to fulfill their needs and dreams.

At the Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute (Deemed to be University), Sir CV Raman Journal Club ensures that faculty and student, promote critical thinking skills, dissemination of scientific information, and generate novel research ideas for publications. The general aim of a JC is to facilitate the review of a specific research study and to discuss the implications of the study for practice. It also provides a platform to meet research faculties, research scholars, UG/PG students, and external research experts to observe the best practice with all. The operation of CVR JC structures department-wise JC Monthly discussion meetings organizes promotional events for publication to the benefit of faculty and appreciates the faculty research progress through MGR research awards.
