Established in 2003, Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) is named after the esteemed legal luminary Justice Mohammed Hidayatullah. The university was founded by the Government of Chhattisgarh under the Hidayatullah National University of Law, Chhattisgarh, Act. Recognized by the UGC and approved by the BCI, HNLU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs. The undergraduate program includes BA LLB (Hons.), while the postgraduate program offers LLM.

Admission to the undergraduate programs is based on CLAT, while the university conducts its own entrance exam for PhD admissions. Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) boasts a modern and well-equipped campus with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities to support a conducive learning environment for its students. Here are some key highlights of HNLU's infrastructure:

Classrooms - The university boasts 21 air-conditioned, well-furnished, and spacious smart classrooms that meet advanced academic standards.

Moot Court- The Moot Court Hall at HNLU serves as a laboratory for students to test their advocacy skills, with six fully furnished Moot Court Halls available on campus for all courtroom exercises.

Computer Lab- The Computer Lab is fully air-conditioned and equipped with modern furniture, cubicles, high-speed internet connectivity, a powerful firewall, and dedicated IT professionals to support academic needs. The Law Studio is under commission and will be operational soon.

English Language Lab- Recognizing the importance of English in the legal profession and the mandate of the BCI, the university has an English Language Lab equipped with modern software and gadgets to improve students' communication and presentation skills.

Conference Hall- The university also features an air-conditioned Conference Hall with acoustic treatment and a seating capacity of 400 persons.

Gym & Sports - Both boys and girls have access to state-of-the-art gymnasiums in the central hostels, which include indoor badminton courts and table tennis facilities. Outdoor sports facilities on campus include a football ground with a proposed synthetic running track, a cricket ground, a lawn tennis court, two basketball courts, and a volleyball court.

Transport- The university operates three 40-seater buses that shuttle students to the city center in the evenings at periodic intervals. The transport fees cover rides for shopping and entertainment needs in the city.

Canteen- In addition to the dining hall, the university has a multi-need complex with eight shops selling snacks, ice cream, beverages, and other minor necessities. The campus also features a Coffee Day outlet in the shopping complex.
