The Visvavidyalaya is situated at Nasatra, Barpeta, Assam's serene and lush green Krishnaguru Sewashram Campus.
The university was established in 2017 under the Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya Act, 2017. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
The university has added numerous disciplines to its undergraduate to doctoral programs. The university offers PhD programs in Assamese and political science, economics, education, and philosophy; M.A. programs in political science, economics, education, and philosophy; and major-specific BA, B.Com, and B.Sc. programs. Professional programs are offered, including B.Sc. nursing, GNM, BPT (bachelor of physiotherapy), and skill development programs in plumbing, electrician, fitter, and welding.
